The Grossglockner Highway is an alpine pass taking in some spectacular views. Once again we wished we had the car set up differently and dry weather. The view was spectacular and we kept stopping for me to take photos or just generally to take in the views. There isn't much for me to say about this road. It's something that you enjoy rather discuss. I am afraid my pictures don't do it justice but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

It's Autumn here and everything looks beautiful. The Americans call it fall. Apparently it used to be called fall in the English speaking world up until fairly recently when the French word Autumn became fashionable. Only the Americans stuck with the original term. We don't get four seasons in Australia and especially not in Perth. We get two seasons really and all the native trees are evergreens so not much happens in the natural world other than the lizards going into hybernation.

I experienced the seasons for the first time when I worked and backpacked through Europe for a few years. Seeing the world change around you in such a short period of time really gives you a sense of time passing. It sort of defines a year by breaking it up into smaller portions.

We stopped of at Gmund to look at the Porsche museum there. Lots of 356s and some other assorted odds and ends. The chassis of most 356s were made in Gmund so the museum concentrates on that aspect. A few wooden jigs that the hand beaten aluminium panels were made over can be seen here. It is however quite a small museum however.
